isnt this just the iM?
![]() 03/23/2018 at 08:53 |

Basically yes, related to European Auris, iM but new platform but will no longer be called the iM and be more Grounded to the Ground
![]() 03/23/2018 at 08:54 |

Not bad.

Are we beating FP to auto news?

Nice Chevy Cruze....
![]() 03/23/2018 at 08:55 |

Yes.

This thing would be sweet with a high-revving high output NA 4 pot. Too bad the motor will be unimpressive, because it looks great.

I liked the iM, but even with the Corolla’s screamer face, I really want this.
I just hope it comes with a manual state-side.

2.0L “Dynamic Force” Ahem Predicted 168 HP, 151 Ft/Lb torque
![]() 03/23/2018 at 09:01 |

only one thing wrong with it though.
it’s still a Toyota.
![]() 03/23/2018 at 09:02 |

cant wait for the GR version that wont actually come to the US lol. nice that theyre offering a 6 Speed alongside the CVT though
![]() 03/23/2018 at 09:04 |

anything is nice compared to the Cruze
![]() 03/23/2018 at 09:05 |

It looks very nice, and I hope the stick makes it state side, but the dash screen is awful. Do they not even try anymore?
![]() 03/23/2018 at 09:08 |

And, tragically, still a Corolla.
![]() 03/23/2018 at 09:08 |

Is it that bad? They look nice.

Hyundai/Kia called they want their car back!
![]() 03/23/2018 at 09:10 |

I see it but their fronts are more tolerable IMO
![]() 03/23/2018 at 09:10 |

Ah yes, the Auris. Did you spot my yawn? Anyway, here are some shots of the wagon version (because Europe)

The two announced powertrains for the US are 2.0 6-speed manual, and 2.0 CVT.

Are Toyota and GM sharing hatchbacks again?
![]() 03/23/2018 at 09:19 |

Dang it, I was hoping it would be the KODO 2 hatch with corporate Toyota front end. Then I would consider buying one and importing a KODO 2 front clip and have the KODO Mazda 2 I have been pining for...
![]() 03/23/2018 at 09:24 |

That’s not bad if it’s around 3000lbs. I mean it’s not hot hatch territory but I could have a lot of fun in that

I just want a radio :(
![]() 03/23/2018 at 09:30 |

I see the interior as the biggest riff for me, the front has a lot of Kia the inside has a lot of new Hyundai

No longer on the ancient platform. No more 4 speed! No more engine without variable valve timing. No more drum brakes?!
![]() 03/23/2018 at 09:50 |

Is Toyota finally ditching the 1.8? That engine’s only been powering the Corolla for what, 30 years?
![]() 03/23/2018 at 09:57 |

So the car company with arguably the highest reliability in the industry is bringing out a small, manual hatchback, and the immediate reaction around here is to shit all over it because reasons?
You’re all a bunch of idiots. Grow up.
You have not driven it yet, how can you know it will be boring.
You all seems to hate Toyota, and especially Lexus, for their styling when they are not the only ones with offensive gaping maws occupying the front end of their cars.
Did Toyota insult your mother’s honor or something? This place used to be cool, and now it’s all about hating on everything and trying to dunk on the things other people may like with your sick, edgy burns.
Goddamn kids. Get off my lawn.

I’ll keep my 2ZZ-GE-powered, 8200rpm screamer Matrix XRS, thanks.
Though I will admit I do like how it looks.
![]() 03/23/2018 at 10:37 |

Well it’s certainly the angriest Corolla Yet. Also least square hatchback since the Juke, no the CH-R even worse.

They’re working on redesigning all of their engines into one new family, right now.
This is the M20A, debuting in this and the Lexus UX, there’s the A25A that debuted in the new Camry, and the V35A that debuted in the LS 500.
And the 2ZR-FE came out in... 2009, I think? (In any case, the hybrid version, the 2ZR-FXE, gets to live a while longer in the Prius, the rest of world C-HR Hybrid, and the rest of world Auris 1.8 Hybrid (basically this but as a hybrid).)

I kinda like it...
It’s not gorgeous but it’s certainly an improvement over the current gen
